Equipped Ministry

Equipped Ministry seeks to serve high school students through teaching of the Word of God, preaching the message of salvation, studying specific passages of scripture and biblical issues and helping students apply the truths they learn. We desire to help students walk with God as we lead by example, equip them to defend their faith and give them opportunity to serve in their church and community.

Schedule

Wednesdays @ 6:30pm-8:00pm

Wednesday nights are for fellowship, games and growth. These nights are structured by a group game, time of musical worship and expository preaching. Wednesday nights are a great time for new students to visit the youth group!

Sundays @ 9am-10:15am

Core Classes are held prior to our Sunday worship service where students will interact in groups by answering questions instigated by the youth pastor. This helps with adopting methods of application alongside reading scripture.

Sundays @ 5:30pm-8:00pm

These groups are designed for students to grow in relationship with Christ, their peers and leaders. They will be working through an applicable study of Sunday's teachings. This is a more intentional environment where your student will experience person to person discipleship.

'All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.'

Senior Benediction Banquet

May 5 @ 6:00pm

Every year we honor our high school seniors with a special service we call our 'Senior Benediction.' We will gather in the Chapel for some desserts and words of encouragement as a final send off. Parents of seniors, this will be an opportunity for you to speak on behalf of your graduate. Seniors and their families are invited, as well as our Equipped students! Since we will have dessert together, please let us know how many will be attending from your family.

Our Big Events

Community
Weekend

Early September

This is an in-town weekend retreat for our high school students. The weekend consists of worship, teaching, a community service project, and fun aimed at building relationships among students. Community Weekend will be the kick-off for high school growth groups that continue throughout the year.

Winter
Retreat

Early January

This trip takes place each year on MLK weekend. We head down to Gulf Shores for a full weekend at the beach and retreat from the stressors of everyday life. This time is full of worship, teaching, small groups, and lots of fellowship! It's one of our favorite events of the year where our students experience a great mid-year refocus.

Ascend
Camp

Late June

This trip takes us to Carlinville, Illinois every year in late June. This camp consists of high-energy games and even higher impact teaching. Our group joins over 20 churches for a week of worshiping alongside over 1,000 students from all over the country. Ascend Camp is an opportunity for students to grow deeply in their relationship with Christ and one another.
