We exist to glorify God by loving our community through proclaiming the Word of God.

New to SMCC?

If you’re considering visiting Shades Mountain Community Church for the first time, we want you to feel welcome as our guest! Our Sunday worship service is at 10:30am and we invite you to join us anytime! We know the first visit can be a little intimidating, so we’ve answered a few common questions for you.

What kind of church is SMCC?

We are an independent, or non-denominational, church. We are a multi-generational congregation committed to loving God with all we are, loving our neighbors with gospel intentionality, and growing together in love through Christ-centered community.

What should I expect when I arrive?

When you arrive, you’ll be greeted and welcomed with a smile and helped with any questions you have. A member of our hospitality team will happily make sure every member of your family gets where they are going!  Be sure to visit our coffee bar to pick up your warm beverage for the morning!

What should I wear?

On Sunday mornings at SMCC you’ll see jeans and suits and everything in between! Wear whatever makes you the most comfortable for worship.

What is the worship service like?

Worship is led by a praise band and choir. We sing a variety of modern praise songs, choruses, and hymns in a varied worship experience to honor the One True God. After the music you’ll hear a biblically-based sermon with lots of practical application.

What about my children?

We have a vibrant children’s ministry that your children can participate in on Sunday mornings. Elementary-aged children are invited to stay in Kids Church while the adults and youth meet in the worship center for our Sunday morning service. However, your children are just as welcome in the worship center if you would prefer to have them worship with you.

Our Nursery Ministry provides a place for your younger children to learn age-appropriate biblical truths in a safe and caring atmosphere, both during the Sunday school period and the worship service.
