Serving in the World (Missions)

The Missions Ministry of Shades Mountain Community Church exists to promote and support missions in Birmingham, Alabama, the United States, and around the world. Our church currently supports many missionaries, both in the U.S. and foreign fields, including over a dozen missionary families coming from our own church.

Every February, this ministry puts on a Missions Conference, bringing in foreign missionaries to encourage these ambassadors for Christ and to expose our congregation to all that God is doing through them all over the world.

We also believe that every member is a minister in his own sphere of influence and is to be involved in global missions by either going or sending.

There are multiple ways to serve our missionaries as they serve around the world:

1. Give to Faith Promise.
2. Pray for our missionaries.
3. Write a missionary to encourage him or her.
4. Help with planning of our Missions Conference.
