Serving in the City

SMCC strives to be a integral part of the Bluff Park and Birmingham communities.  We have several opportunities for you to serve!

Each month during the school year, we partner with Bluff Park Elementary School through the “Backpack Buddies” program.  This program provides supplemental food for students on the weekends.  Once a month we pack bags of food that are then delivered to BPES, and distributed to students.  If you would like to help pack bags for this ministry, please contact Leanne Rainwater.  Delivery dates for the remainder of the 2022-2023 school year are April 6 and May 4.

Another fun way way to get involved at Bluff Park Elementary is to read to students!  If you would be interested in reading once a week or even once a month, contact Gary Kennedy.

SMCC serves on the third Wednesday of each month with Christian Service Mission, sorting Amazon returns at their facility downtown.  We’d love to have you join us – you can click here to get more information and to sign up each month.
