Biblical Counseling Training

The Shades Mountain Community Church Biblical Counseling Ministry is in need of lay counselors willing to walk with another person through their life challenges.

The Biblical Counseling ministry of Shades Mountain Community Church is committed to the absolute sufficiency of the Word of God. We believe that in the Bible, God has provided us with real answers for the real problems people encounter in life.

SMCC Biblical Counseling Training will be conducted on Wednesday nights from 6:30-8:00 in the Fellowship Hall.   Training for the 2022-2023 year kicked off on September 21.  The training is open to anyone who desires to become a biblical counselor at SMCC, and for those who want to learn more about biblical counseling, and for those who just want to learn more about using the Bible to minister to themselves or someone close to them.  Please click here for more information.

The goal of this training is to equip God’s people to be able to minister God’s Word to those in need. If you want your counsel to be more biblical, insightful, and helpful to the people you care about, consider participating in SMCC Biblical Counseling Training.

The training includes curriculum from the International Association of Biblical Counselors (IABC), and the Institute of Biblical Counseling and Discipleship (IBCD). The training process includes reading, DVD video instruction, class participation, lectures, and role playing. For those desiring to become active SMCC counselors and to become certified counselors, the training also includes co-counseling and supervised counseling.
