SMCC Ballet Academy

Welcome to the SMCC Ballet Academy! Fall semester classes will begin on August 28, and will be taught by our own Jessica Nicholson of the Alabama Ballet. The SMCC Ballet Academy is a Christ-centered studio offering high quality training in classical ballet and contemporary dance. Ballet is a beautiful art form that can be used to give glory back to Christ just as we pray, sing, and fellowship. We believe it can be used as an expression of the gifts God has given to individuals. Our values and standards are set in place to create a positive and trusted environment, where students can learn and thrive in their love for dance. Here at the SMCC Ballet Academy, your child will grow in more ways than one. From prayer and mentorship in the classroom, to choreography set to Christian worship music, to outreach performance opportunities in the community! All of course paired alongside excellent training.

Available Levels:

• Ballet 1:  One class per week for ages 6-8 
• Ballet 2A:  Two classes per week for beginner students ages 9-12 
• Ballet 2B:  Two classes per week for intermediate students ages 9-12 (students must have 1-2 years recent ballet training and/or be placed by director into this class)
• Private lessons upon request

There is a $40 fee upon registration which also covers a class leotard for the year.  Students will receive their class leotard on their first day of classes.  Please use the “Ballet Size Chart” link to determine sizing for your student.
